Be a Learning Hero is a national nonprofit organization working to engage and inform parents on how to best support their students education from kindergarten through eighth grade. Back-to-school season can be a challenging time for parents and students as they transition from grade to grade or perhaps to a new school.
Saturday, July 28, 1 – 3 p.m.
Christ Lutheran Church/Iglesia Luterana Cristo will be hosting an event with free school supplies for neighborhood families and an open house to learn more about healthy eating, active living, and education. Food will be served. Visit the CLC website to learn more.
Each year Colorado Kids for Kids hosts a school supply store. Kids in need of supplies are able to come and shop in the store and pick out the supplies they need and want. All of the supplies are free of charge, but both parents and kids must be present to pick up supplies.
Are you a school or organization that needs support? Fill out the Community Groups form, and they will try to help with school supplies, coat drives, shoe drives, etc.
Many DPS schools partner with the DPS Foundation or other corporate partners for school-supply drives at the school level. Please reach out to your child’s school to see if they have any supplies available.

Dolls For Daughters hosts a Packz 4 Kidz Event at Dick’s Sporting Goods, located at 6000 Victory Way, Commerce City, CO 80022. Parents or legal guardians must attend with their children in order to receive backpacks with supplies. First come, first served for backpacks and school supplies – no pre-registration.
Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS) provides basic human services and enrichment programs to low-income family members using community resources. In addition to a food bank and a clothing bank, they run a back-to-school supply drive. Visit the website or call 303-789-0501 for more information or to see if your family is eligible.
